Scott Taylor
The Mask series (2011) is a collection of representational paintings of masks from Native American, African and Oceanic cultures. I have always been fascinated with these objects since I first began learning about them. My pilgrimages to the Hamill Gallery of Tribal Art while I was a student in Boston and later visits to the Oceanic galleries at the Metropolitan in New York helped to shape and inform the kind of paintings and sculpture I continue to create.
